Making Holes with a Laser? How Do you Monitor and Maintain Quality?

The hole made by the laser on the film extends the product’s life inside the packaging. The presence and size of the holes are critical, and the lack of a hole or a diameter out of tolerance is enough for the packaging not to be suitable.

Precisely for this reason, Feldman ST developed, tested, and successfully installed the system:

N.O.A. (No Operator Adjustment)

With the N.O.A., the holes are measured in real-time. If there is a defect in terms of presence or size, the defect’s correction occurs automatically while constantly monitoring the process.

The system has a log-keeping feature for each reel processed. Data such as hole diameter, area, percentage of missing holes, and even photos are recorded into a file. This way, the production remains tracked and available in case of complaints.

We also have a customized system of alarms for defect thresholds, which can be programmed directly by the customer.

The N.O.A. system integrated into our laser systems of the FST-LSR family or be combined with another existing system. The integration with our systems also allows the activation of automatic correction. Integrating with other systems provides monitoring, alarms, and log.
