Making Holes with a Laser? How Do you Monitor and Maintain Quality?

The hole made by the laser on the film extends the product’s life inside the packaging. The presence and size of the holes are critical, and the lack of a hole or a diameter out of tolerance is enough for the packaging not to be suitable.
Precisely for this reason, Feldman ST developed, tested, and successfully installed the system:
N.O.A. (No Operator Adjustment)
With the N.O.A., the holes are measured in real-time. If there is a defect in terms of presence or size, the defect’s correction occurs automatically while constantly monitoring the process.
The system has a log-keeping feature for each reel processed. Data such as hole diameter, area, percentage of missing holes, and even photos are recorded into a file. This way, the production remains tracked and available in case of complaints.
We also have a customized system of alarms for defect thresholds, which can be programmed directly by the customer.
The N.O.A. system integrated into our laser systems of the FST-LSR family or be combined with another existing system. The integration with our systems also allows the activation of automatic correction. Integrating with other systems provides monitoring, alarms, and log.

Building Connections in the Plastic Industry
PLAST exhibition, which coincided with the end of the summer holiday season, may not have seemed like the ideal time for a business event. Celebrating « Women in Plastics » during PLAST Fair
We are delighted to share the highlights of an extraordinary Feldman Systems and Technologies event organized during this year's PLAST Fair in Milan. This unique gathering was dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women in the plastics industry. It all began with an article written by our sales manager Paola Pireddu, published in the special edition, Women in Plastics, in the prominent magazine "techno PLAST" in January/February 2023. Paola was listed among the TOP 30 women in the plastics industry in Italy.
